Jo Mariner was born in the Northeast United States and as an adult lived in Philadelphia before moving to London, UK. She is an alumna of Writers Community, Olympic Valley, CA where she worked under poets Galway Kinnell, Robert Haas, and Brenda Hillman. In the US, her poems have appeared in Sewanee Review, Midwest Quarterly, and American Writing. She has continued writing, publishing and performing poetry in the UK, having poems published in print by Poetry Ealing, Weymouth Review, and Tears in the Fence and online by Ink, Sweat, and Tears; Ink Drinkers; Entropy Magazine, and The Writer’s Forum Workshop Zine issues 1 and 2. She has performed her work for The David Roberts Arts Foundation, London; at the Universities of Glasgow and Sussex; and the Berlin International Poetry Festival.
